Scientist/Senior Scientist for Protein and Enzyme Engineering

Responsibilities

  • 1. Design, plan, and execute experiments to engineer and optimize proteins and enzymes with improved performance, such as catalytic activity, stability, and specificity. 

  • 2. Utilize various molecular biology and protein engineering techniques, including directed evolution, rational design, and gene synthesis, to create novel protein variants. 

  • 3. Design and implement analytical tools and characterization techniques to assess the performance of engineered proteins and enzymes both in intro and in vivo. 

  • 4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and address challenges related to protein engineering projects. 

  • 5. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field and apply emerging technologies to enhance protein engineering strategies. 

  • 6. Participate with IP team to protect, enrich and increase value of the company's technology IP portfolio.  

 

Qualifications 

  • 1. Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields. Preferablywith 3 years of experience working in protein/enzyme engineering in industrial settings or similar environment. MSc with significant relevant experience will be considered. 

  • 2. Proven experience in protein engineering, enzyme evolution, and molecular biology technologies such as protein engineering, protein expression, protein purification and biochemical characterizations. 

  • 3. Proficient in developing new enzyme assays and utilizing microbial and in vitro recombinant systems. 

  • 4. Experience in genomic data mining and identifying functions of potential genes via bioinformatics and/or artificial intelligence/machine learning approaches is a plus. 

  • 5. Must be safety-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized individuals.  

  • 6. Capable to adapt and work well in a collaborative, fast-paced work setting, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture. 

  • 7. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese, preferably in English as well. 

  • 8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues.
